Organic farming experiences and visit to the Cabo Roig military detachment among the tourist routes in May

The Department of Tourism of the City of Orihuela announces a series of tourist activities, routes, visits and workshops, for the month of May. This month begins with a tourist route that will explore the curiosities of the Circus Theatre and the Episcopal Palace. The departure is scheduled from the Plaza del Poeta Sansano at 5:30 p.m. on May 3.

Highlights of May include those dedicated to the poet Miguel Hernández. On May 5 and 25, participants will be able to immerse themselves in the life and work of the poet through two tours: "Miguel Hernández through the Murals of San Isidro" and "Miguel Hernández: Life and Work".

On May 11th, an exclusive tour of the Convents of Orihuela will take place, including a visit to the mother house of the Carmelites, the church of the Convent of the Trinity and the Monastery of San Juan. The departure will be at 10:30 a.m. from the Plaza del Carmen.

In addition, on May 12, a route will be carried out in Orihuela Costa, with a visit to the military detachment of Cabo Roig, a facility attached to the Special Operations Command of Alicante where instruction is carried out by teams specialized in water, Green Berets, specialists of the Civil Guard and divers of the Navy.

On May 17, tourism by districts is valued, in La Matanza, a different route will take place on the farm of organic cultivation with animals, in the middle of nature and getting to know the orchard more thoroughly. It is a type of cultivation in which animals participate and you will have the possibility to taste the food grown on site.

On the occasion of International Museum Day, children's workshops will be held on May 18 in the Plaza del Carmen and Plaza de la Condesa Via Manuel, in the morning from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition, tourist routes will be offered that will include a visit to the Cathedral, Santo Domingo and the Civil War Refuge, giving participants a complete view of the historical richness of Orihuela.
